India’s OTA story
With a burgeoning middle class with ample disposable incomes and rising internet penetration rates, India has been providing Online Travel Agents a business niche in a highly competitive travel market.
Consider these statistics: a middle class that’s hitting almost 100 million; 20 million Internet subscribers, 26 million credit cards and 102 million debit card users. According to PhoCusWright, this online travel business is worth US$2.8 billion and is set to more than double to about US$6 billion by 2010.
